I see the dark outline of a circle surrounded by several layers of square frames...I see stars outside of the circle and a combination of stars, lines, and colors within the circle. Because of the stars, combination of forms, and dark tones, the piece looks celestial, mysterious, grand, and complex. The circle looks like a marble or globe packed with material. The form references my planet, yet reflects substance beyond my environment...I see the faint impression of letters and numbers towards the bottom left and I wonder if this is a significant date or a significant piece of data to the artist. Because the artist is playing with images of space, the piece reminds me that technology has progressed to a point that we can peer beyond our own planet into the depths of the universe.
LOVE! The combination of space and focusing on the middle gives it an awesome effect. Even though the colors are darker and more saturated it still gives off a happy effect. AND, as you already know, I love the way the edges outline the piece. It's almost like looking at an illusion of sorts :)
The image to me looks like a planet. Not a planet we are familiar with, but more like a work of science fiction. Although the overall color is dark, the contrast with the reds and blues gives me a mood of wonder or curiosity. The more I look at it, the more it reminds me of the electricity balls you see at a place like KOSI, where you put your hand on the glass sphere and the small bolts of energy scatter around the shape of your hand. I think the picture is beautiful, and would look amazing if it were in a domed circular ceiling. Or if it had some sort of lighted illumination. Good job Kristi! I think it looks great as is, I can't think of a single critique!
I actually really like this piece. i am fascinated by the sky and what exists in it. I get a feeling of calming from this piece. i am wondering what the numbers at the bottom of it represent, if anything? The color throughout the piece is very nice also. i especially like the stars around it. The focal point for me is the direct center, with the blue and red. Very nice! Excited to see your final result.
This piece caught my eye immediately; it may be the fact that I find space, outer space in particular, very interesting because it makes me long for answers regarding our existence. I enjoy the broken edges of the composition, so I don't find anything that I would urge you to change. This being said, I hope you continue this and I'm excited to see the final draft.
Your image looks really cool. I like how it looks like an orb with galaxys inside it and the original borders of all the images look cool as well. The mood I get from this image is optimistic and mysterious.
